The scaffolding was fully dropped last week which, for the first
time, afforded a full appreciation of the marriage of old and new:
the old stone elevation repaired with new stone and infilled with
new windows; the new roof and the new extension.
Clad in slate and zinc, the new building replaces the previous,
smaller building which had fallen badly into a state of
disrepair.
